The purpose of this document is to describe how to install a hub widget on your website. Before reading any further, please ensure that you have access to create new pages on your website, add Javascript source files and have the ability to potentially edit HTML source code (as some systems may require).

The hub widget is an all-in-one solution for adding creator storefronts and shoppable video and photo pages to your website. This allows you to harness creator engagement from social media and convert that engagement to sales.

Installation

The installation of the hub widget is fairly straightforward. It will be described in generic terms, as there are many different systems for managing content and each system can be very different.

  1. The first step is to create an empty page on your site. As part of doing this, you will need to create a URL path. This path is up to you to decide. Whatever path you choose, that configuration will need to be updated in the Creatable dashboard, so that the hub widget can properly form the URLs for navigation purposes.
    A few examples:
    1. /storefront/
    2. /videos/
    3. /creators/
  2. The next step will be to install the hub widget source code. There are 2 versions of this source code based upon what rights you may have in order to manage this empty web page.
    1. Method 1: Direct injection. Place your script directly in the “body” area of the web page. This script will inject the hub widget directly into the area that it was placed.
    2. Method 2: Separate source & execution. Using the source file, place this as high up in the <head></head> section of the website to ensure the script is loaded as soon as possible. Then take this execution script and add it in the “body” area of the web page. The execution script will run and leverage the source file that was added earlier. The benefit of this is faster page load speed.
  3. Finally, once steps 1 & 2 have been completed, you are ready to test the hub widget on your environment and deploy to production.
  4. Your hub script will be provided to you by your client success representative after the experience has been customized to satisfy your requirements.
